Green Slice FAQ
Orders are shipped with UPS 2 Day shipping from Vermont, and carefully packaged in a thermal lunch bag with reusable cold packs to stay refrigerated until the time of delivery. The majority of our orders are processed within 1 business day after the order has been placed. The order placing cut off is Wednesday at 10:00 AM EST to ensure delivery before Sunday. Deliveries are made Tuesdays through Saturdays only.
You will receive 3 emails from Green Slice, an order confirmation, a shipping notification with your tracking number so you can follow the progress of your order, and a delivery notification. You are not required to sign for deliveries. If you feel like you've been waiting for your order a long time, or that the product in your delivery is not suitable for consumption, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll back get to you within 24 hours.
We aim to provide a great experience every time, but even we can experience the off day occasionally. We don’t want you to be bummed out so if you are dissatisfied for any reason, please contact us at email@example.com within 24 hours of receiving your Green Slice products. Depending on the circumstances, we will provide you a full or partial credit or refund of the purchase price for that item. We may require photographic documentation of any product with which you are dissatisfied before we provide you a replacement, credit or refund. We ship perishable products that cannot be restocked or resold, which is why we do not accept returns.
The best way to guarantee a great experience is to review our shipping guidelines and keep them in mind when placing orders. If you have an issue that isn't covered below, let us know and we'll help work through a solution. Thank you!
Shipping Accuracy: Check your addresses carefully! Our Return Policy extends only to correctly addressed orders. We cannot guarantee the condition of the package if the delivery service has to reroute. We guarantee delivery only to the provided address on the confirmed order acknowledgement. If you entered an incorrect delivery address during the checkout process there is a small window of time where you can notify us and correct it. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible to request a delivery address change, in most cases we can accommodate such requests before an order is processed.
Processing & Delivery: The majority of our orders are processed within 1 business day after the order has been placed. Orders are shipped 2 or 3 Day Air or Ground, depending on your location. The order placing cut off is Wednesday at 10:00 AM EST to receive delivery the same week. Deliveries are made Tuesdays through Saturdays only.
Refunds and Replacements Due to the perishable nature of our product, we do not accept returns. In the event you are dissatisfied with your purchase, you must contact us within 24 hours from receiving your order. We reserve the right to limit refunds and replacements, and we can only offer one replacement per consumer.
Handling and Freshness: All products shipped from Green Slice Foods are shipped from Vermont in a thermal lunch bag with reusable ice packs. If you will not be home at the time of delivery for your order, we strongly suggest you have your items shipped to your work or to a friend/neighbor/family member who can refrigerate your foods on delivery. We are not responsible for items that are left out in the heat for hours after delivery. Other defects must be reported within 24 hours from receipt of order.
Tracking Orders: When your order is ready to be shipped, you will receive a shipment confirmation email. The majority of our orders are shipped within 1 business day after the order has been placed. The email will contain shipping and tracking details.
Yes, all of our foods are USDA organic. You know when you purchase a product with the USDA Organic label that it has been produced without the use of non-organic compounds like pesticides, and has met stringent growing, labeling and handling standards. Certified organic producers must have an annual plan that addresses soil and ecosystem health, and their operations are reviewed each year by organic certifiers under the guidelines set by the National Organic Standards Board, which is overseen by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Why should we avoid pesticides and eat organic? Pesticide use degrades air and water quality, while threatening the health of workers, farmers, and communities. Pesticides can also be found in a lot of the foods you eat such as fruits and vegetables. That means when you wash your produce prior to eating, you are still ingesting all of the pesticides that have absorbed into the food.

Yes! We do not use any GMO ingredients in our foods. All our Green Slice Foods are USDA organic certified. If a food has a certified organic label, it is inherently “GMO-free” ― this is one of the many strict guidelines set forth by the USDA. The United States government does NOT allow companies to label products Certified Organic if they contain genetically modified foods.
Yes, all Green Slice Foods are soy-free and do not contain any type of soy, tempeh, or soybean oil. Green Slice Foods will always be soy free!
Love soy or hate soy, it’s actually the controversial little legume. Soy-based products contain high amounts of phytoestrogens that can be harmful to your body. There is conflicting research regarding its effects on cancer, and recently the Food and Drug Administration proposed a rule to revoke a health claim related to soy protein and heart disease.
Soy-based allergies have increased 50% since 1996, and almost all soybeans grown today are genetically modified. Most soy comes in the form of highly processed soy protein isolates or soy lecithin, one of the most widely used food additives on the market today.

If you choose to eat soy foods, you will find the most benefit from eating small quantities of organically-grown, whole-food, fermented soy, like real soy sauce, miso, tempeh, or natto, the way Asian people have safely enjoyed soy for millennia.
Our other foods contain wheat starch which is also gluten-free, because all gluten has been removed. In Europe even Celiac people eat wheat starch. Under the FDA’s gluten-free labeling rule wheat starch is allowed in gluten-free foods as long as the final product contains less than 20 ppm of gluten. This is because wheat starch is considered by the FDA to be an ingredient processed to remove gluten. However, we decided to still call out wheat as an allergen in our foods containing wheat starch to avoid any market confusion.

Yes, all Green Slice Foods are dairy-free, lactose-free and casein-free, and made in a facility that does not use any dairy ingredients.

Yes. Green Slice does not contain any meat and is made in a 100% meat-free and dairy-free facility.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has classified processed meats like lunch meat and hot dogs as a Group 1 carcinogen, the same category as tobacco smoking and asbestos, known to cause cancer. Red meat, such as beef, lamb and pork, has been classified as a Group 2A carcinogen which means it probably causes cancer. The Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) and the American Institute for Cancer Research (AIRC) have also found that “the evidence on processed meat and cancer is clear-cut.” These organizations, including the American Heart Association recommend to avoid consuming processed meats entirely.
According to the Environmental Working Group (EWG), the production, processing and distribution of meat requires huge outlays of pesticides, fertilizer, fuel, feed, and water while releasing copious amounts of greenhouse gases, manure and a range of toxic chemicals into our air and water. Further, the output of methane from cattle (cow farts!) is estimated to generate some 20% of overall U.S. methane emissions related to human activity, and is the No. 1 agricultural source of greenhouse gases worldwide. In addition, the widespread use of antibiotics to keep livestock healthy on those overcrowded factory farms (also called concentrated animal feeding operations or CAFOs) has led to the development of antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria that threaten human health and the environment.
The National Academy of Sciences finds that foods associated with the largest negative environmental impacts - unprocessed and processed red meat - are consistently associated with the largest increases in disease risk. Thus, if you are looking to help reduce your carbon footprint when it comes to food, a dietary transitions toward a reduction in your meat consumption, and buying organic when you can will make the biggest impact.

All Green Slice Foods are Certified Halal by Halal Correct, but we are currently still in the process of getting Kosher certified. Stay tuned.
Absolutely. Our products are organic and perishable and should always be stored in the fridge.
Green Slice Organic Veggie Dogs can be frozen for up to one year. Freezing the deli slices is not recommended but entirely possible.
Absolutely, all our Green Slice Foods have been fully cooked, but our organic Veggie Dogs taste best when heated.
Our recommendation to enjoy Green Slice Foods within 3-5 days of opening is for best quality only – after that, the food’s texture, color, and flavor may change because of its contact with oxygen, but in most cases, it could still be safe to consume if it has been kept continuously refrigerated.
Yes, all our eggs in our organic Veggie Dogs and organic vegetarian Deli Slices come from organically pasture-raised chickens that are fed a mix of clover, grass, and minerals. The results are leaner birds that get lots of exercise, fresh air, and water; this also means their eggs are more flavorful. They scratch, eat only from the pasture, and chase grasshoppers. “Just like nature intended.”
